There’s a reason the U.S. MOTORS® brand vertical motors have been the symbol of quality and reliability for the agricultural irrigation industry for almost a century. We’ve built on our solid platform, adding the latest technology.

Demand for variable speed motors is growing and we are offering a wide variety of motors and drives to meet this need. Stop by our booth to see our Vertical Motors, our popular World Motor® line and our innovative VFD Pump Panel. We will also be showing our FORECYTE® equipment condition monitoring system.

Free Workshop

A highlight of the show will be a free workshop “Protecting Today’s More Efficient Pump Motors from PWM Damage” led by award-winning speaker Patrick Hogg.

The push for more efficient pumping solutions is accelerating, and it’s coming from all directions. On one side, the U.S. Department of energy is implementing new minimum efficiency standards on pumping systems and their components. On the other, end-users are demanding pumping systems with ever higher efficiencies. This session presents practical guidelines for pump motor protection from PWM waveforms inherent in energy efficient, VFD controlled pumping systems.

Workshop attendees will learn how to:

  • Identify the system level causes of voltage spikes that exceed NEMA MG1 Part 31 standards and lead to shortened motor life
  • List power quality factors not addressed by NEMA MG1 Part 31 standards that can have a detrimental effect on motor life
  • Identify the available technologies and techniques that can be employed to mitigate the effects of a VFD’s PWM waveforms on motors
  • Use the most appropriate and cost-effective techniques to protect the motor that results in a highly efficient, reliable pump drive system
