The MERKLE-KORFF brand showed its innovative side early – developing the original small gearmotor in the 1920s, followed by the simple cup-drop motor in soft drink machines in the 1950s, and then through-the-door ice dispensing systems. Throughout its history, the MERKLE-KORFF® brand has consistently developed innovative products that drive successful product introductions.

Today, after over a century in business, the MERKLE-KORFF® brand remains at the technology forefront by providing industry leading Brushless, PMDC and AC gearmotor and motor and control solutions for applications in the commercial food equipment, consumer appliance, vending, pellet stove, pump, medical and other various markets. The MERKLE-KORFF® brand’s precision performing product line includes Brushless DC gearmotors and motors, PMDC brushed motors and gearmotors, PMDC planetary and right angle gearmotors, BLDC, PMDC and AC parallel shaft gearmotors, and custom solutions.

In late 2012, the MERKLE-KORFF brand became part of Nidec Group, a $12 billion revenue (USD) manufacturer of electric motors and related electronics components.
