Control Techniques, part of the Nidec group, has entered into a partnership with UK distributor Farnell. The deal will see Farnell carry a range of Control Techniques’ AC variable speed drives and servo motors.

Farnell will be carrying the full range of Control Techniques’ famous Commander general purpose drives. Commander, which comes with a free five-year warranty, is suitable for most factory automation applications. Its on-board PLC and enhanced functionality include remote diagnostics, reducing the total system cost, while the integrated SI interface enables simple and flexible system connectivity to industry standard fieldbuses. Ethernet and extended I/O options are also available.

Farnell will also carry Control Techniques’ Unimotor HD servo motors, designed for high dynamic applications requiring hard accelerations and decelerations.

Steve Lambert, UK Sales & Distribution Manger, said: “We are delighted to partner with Farnell, for our key technology platforms as they invest and expand further into the industrial and automation sectors. We are excited by this opportunity, not only in the UK but across Europe, with Farnell and the business opportunities we can win together moving forward.”

Simon Meadmore, Global Head of IP&E at Farnell, said: “Variable speed drives, motors and gearboxes are some of the most in-demand products offered by Control Techniques and are a valuable addition to Farnell’s industrial automation product portfolio.

“We are committed to establishing new relationships with market leading suppliers to ensure our industrial automation customers have access to the best-in-class products and design-in solutions available at the most competitive prices.

“Control Techniques also offers a standard five-year warranty on all parts providing reassurance to customers with smaller production facilities or tight product development budgets who are seeking to automate their facilities.”
