Control Techniques Expands Into Mexico

The Beginning of a New Era of Drives Production

OCT 12, 2022

Control Techniques and Nidec entered the next exciting phase of its expansion plans for global manufacturing on Wednesday 12th October when they opened a brand-new manufacturing facility in Monterrey, Mexico.

This bold development signified the beginning of a new era of drives production and allows them to support their strategic objectives for growth and to be able to manufacture all their products anywhere in the world.

The brand new 129,000 square feet facility houses three Nidec businesses, Control Techniques, KB Electronics, and Valmark, and has plenty of scope for all three businesses to grow their manufacturing capacity into the future. This state-of-the-art factory, run by Plant Director Gerardo Pena will initially be manufacturing Commander C drives for the North American market.

The facility represents an $18.6 million investment, which shows that their future is their focus. But Control Techniques are not done yet, their commitment to further investment in terms of production materials is very real. The new facility has the latest state-of-the-art machinery, matching what they have in their already operational facilities. This means they will not only have increased their manufacturing capacity but will have ensured that there is no dip in quality wherever their drives are made.

Control Techniques says “This project, which is unparalleled in drive manufacturing, supports our aggressive plan for future growth and commitment to the North American market”.

This huge investment enables Control Techniques to produce the same product using the same machines in all facilities. This ensures a robust supply chain and negates any unforeseen circumstances that may stop manufacturing in any one of our facilities, products can still be produced and delivered from one of our replicated manufacturing facilities.

Control Techniques promises to continually offer highly innovative products with uniformed proficiency. Meaning, all products will have the same parts, be of the same quality, be developed with the same engineering, and be made in exactly the same way. All of this ensures a real win-win for Control Techniques’ customers.
