Unidrive M400 AC Drive Simplex and Multiplex Pump Solutions

The Control Techniques’ Unidrive M400 Multiplex Pump solution is an effective and versatile variable speed control system for maintaining constant pressure in a multiple pump configuration for ratings up to 200 hp.

Based on the highly reliable Unidrive M400 AC drive, this solution offers cost effective pump control for up to 3 pumps and includes SI-ETHERNET for inter-drive, EtherNet/IP and Modbus TCP communications. An embedded controller in the drive eliminates the need for an external controller saving cost, space and programming time.

How to order

1. Order any frame size 2 or above Unidrive M400. This includes the pre-programmed Unidrive M400 with multiplex pump software and SI-ETHERNET, for example:

Standard Drive: M400-02400013A10101AB100 (with DB transistor) M400-09402000E10101AN100 (without DB transistor)

Multiplex Pump Drive: M400-02400013A10101K0034 (with DB transistor) M400-09402000E10101K0036 (without DB transistor)

2. Order CI-KEYPAD-LCD for access to drive parameters, status and diagnostics and to load SD card pump files from the AI-BACKUP-ADAPTOR. One keypad is recommended to be order at a minimum.

3. Order AI-CTAMP for pump configuration drive parameters for drives one, two and three. This includes an AI-BACKUP-ADAPTOR and SD card with default pump configuration drive parameters pre-loaded. Only one AI-CTAMP is needed to load drive parameters for a multiplex system.

How to order

1.Order any Unidrive M400 part number and replace the last 5 digits of the order code with K0033 or K0035. This includes the preprogrammed Unidrive M400 with pump software and default pump configuration drive parameters, for example:

Standard Drive: M400-02400013A10101AB100 (with DB transistor) M400-09402000E10101AN100 (without DB transistor)

Multiplex Pump Drive: M400-02400013A10101K0033 (with DB transistor) M400-09402000E10101K0035 (without DB transistor)

SI-I/O option module for extended I/O (simplex pump solution only)

SI-I/O Extended I/O interface module to increase the number of I/O points on a drive. Provides additional: 4 x Digital I/O, 3 x Analog inputs (default) / digital inputs, 1 x Digital input, 2 x Relays

An SI-I/O option module can be ordered with Unidrive M400 simplex pump drives frames 2 and above. This module provides control over additional pump application parameters.

Additional features include:

A variety of SI communications modules can be ordered to add further flexibility to your simplex pump application. The Unidrive M400 Multiplex Pumping solution includes an SI-ETHERNET module as standard. No other SI option modules can be used with the Multiplex Pump solution.

Keypads

Unidrive M400 AC drives do not include a keypad as standard. A CI-KEYPAD is recommended to be ordered for easy setup, diagnostics, and to load SD card files from the AI-BACKUP-ADAPTOR.

	CI-Keypad LCD Three line plain text, multi-language LCD keypad for rapid setup and helpful diagnostics maximizes machine up-time.
	Remote keypad All the features of the CI-Keypad LCD, but remote mountable. This allows flexible mounting on the outside of a panel and meets IP66 (NEMA 4)
	REMOTE-KEYPAD-RTC The keypad is remote mountable, allowing flexible mounting on the outside of a panel (meets IP54/ NEMA 12). Three line multi-language plus custom text LCD keypad for rapid setup and helpful diagnostics. Battery operated real-time clock allows accurate time stamping of events, aiding diagnostics.

Drive Pump Parameters

A pre-loaded default pump parameter SD card and adaptor can be ordered for backup pump parameters.

• AI-CTASP provides backup default Simplex Pump parameters. Includes an SD card and AI-BACKUP-ADAPTOR
• AI-CTAMP must be ordered for Multiplex pump parameters. Includes an SD memory card and AI-BACKUP-ADAPTOR with individual parameter files loaded for drives 1, 2 and 3 in a multiplex system.

Drive Interface units - Communications

	AI-485-ADAPTOR Adaptor that allows the drive to communicate via Modbus RTU over RS485.
	AI-485-24V-ADAPTOR Adaptor that allows the drive to communicate via Modbus RTU over RS485, and an input for 24 V backup.
	CI-485-ADAPTOR Adaptor that allows the drive to communicate via Modbus RTU over RS485, not compatible with CI-KEYPAD-LCD option.
	CT-USB-CABLE The USB Communications cable allows the drive to connect to a PC for use with Unidrive M's PC tools via a Modbus RTU adaptor.
