Control Techniques, part of the Nidec group, has announced the release of a new PLC Controlled Motion feature that could be used with PLCs having EtherNet/IP or PROFINET fieldbuses.

PLC Controlled Motion is a collection of function blocks that can be installed into a given PLC development environment. This makes it convenient to include in PLC programs that need to perform motion functions to control drives.

It also gives the possibility to easily create motion features inside the controller using the Advanced Motion Controller features available within Control Techniques’ drives. Allied to that, the Motion Control inside the controller also reduces the time needed to develop the application.
