ST. LOUIS – Dec. 2, 2019 – Pumps & Systems magazine has named Patrick Hogg, Application Engineering Manager for Nidec Motor Corporation (NMC), as a Top 10 Young Professional in the pump industry.

Hogg joined NMC in 2010 and has served in several key company positions related to the design, manufacturing, marketing and sale of NMC electric motors and drives. His early career achievements positioned him for key roles on committees, including as the Hydraulic Institute (HI) chair of the Drivers Application Guidebook Committee and vice chair of the HI Energy Rating Committee. The Hydraulic Institute named Hogg as the 2015 Young Engineer of the Year for his contributions to the organization and the industry.

Hogg uses his drive and knowledge to mentor younger engineers, and plans to continue developing his career and aiding industry associations. “We have an issue with experience and knowledge leaving the industry for retirement, and we need to make sure we are training the future of the pump industry to keep the world pumping,” he said.

Pumps & Systems collected nominations for the “10 Pump Professionals to Watch,” from readers. Editors and members of the publication’s Editorial Advisory Board reviewed the submissions and made the selections. The professionals—all under 40 years of age—were chosen for the roles they serve in, the education they’ve completed, the boards and associations they belong to and the effort they put in as they seek to contribute to their companies and communities.
