Affinity is Control Techniques’ dedicated AC Drive for HVAC and refrigeration systems, designed specifically to meet the needs of consultants, contractors and owners of modern commercial buildings. Affinity offers all of the drive functionality and accessories to simply and efficiently solve your fan, pump and compressor applications.

Affinity is available with IP21 (NEMA 1) and IP54 (NEMA 4) environmental protection.

    A complete HVAC solution

    Affinity includes all of the features you would expect from a dedicated HVAC drive, plus more:

    • Fireman’s Mode for building occupant safety
    • Integrated DC Link Reactors and EMC filters
    • Free software tools for:
      • Energy saving calculations
      • Harmonic analysis
      • Commissioning and monitoring
    • Onboard controller and real-time clock,
      • Enables increased control system redundancy for critical equipment
      • Reduces costs for OEMs
      • Simplicity in small HVAC systems where a full Building Management System is not required
    • Motor pre-heat for preventing condensation forming
    • High Switching frequency to 16kHz for quiet motor operation
    • Two PID loops (e.g. temperature or pressure control)
    • Sleep / wake mode
    • SmartCard data storage for back-up and copying of drive configuration
    • Pluggable terminals for simple installation and maintenance
    • Low load detection to sense mechanical problems such as a broken drive belt
    • Easy connectivity: BACnet , Metasys N2, Modbus, Lonworks*, Ethernet*, DeviceNet*, PROFIBUS*, Additional I/O*
       

    *These features are provided by click-in option modules, two may be fitted within each drive.

    • IP54 (NEMA 12) and UL Type 12 module, or
    • IP20 (NEMA 1) module and, with optional conduit box fitted, UL Type 1 module
