North Mankato, MN — [11/20/2025] — Nidec Power has officially broken ground on a major expansion of its North Mankato facility, adding 120,000 square feet to its existing footprint. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on November 20, marks a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to growth and investment in the region.

Nidec Power, a division of Nidec Corporation, designs and manufactures Kato Engineering™ and Leroy-Somer™ alternators, which play a critical role in power generation for applications such as data centers, hospitals, defense, and more. The company is investing over $19 million to expand operations at its North Mankato facility.
