GenSchool Events

Applications for GenSchool 2025 will open late April. 

*More details to come.

GenSchool features classes encompassing all knowledge levels, with topics including:

  • Electrical and Mechanical Theory
  • Basic and Advanced Generator Concepts
  • Regulators and Protective Devices
  • Generator Testing, Sizing, Options, Applications and Certifications
  • Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Remanufacturing

In addition to the classes above, GenSchool participants will be taken on an in-depth tour of the Nidec Power Mankato factory as well as attend entertaining social events to network with fellow industry professionals and Nidec staff.

A breakout session / open forum tailored to specific interests or questions will be available as well.

  • Hotel Accommodations

    Nidec will reserve a block of rooms for GenSchool participants at the following hotel, which is located right next to where classes will take place:

    Once applications have opened and participants have received their acceptance, please email GenSchool@mail.nidec.com with your check in / check out dates. You will receive a reservation confirmation shortly after. 

     

     
  • Tour Details

    The Nidec Power Mankato Plant Tour and Demonstrations will take place at our headquarters located in North Mankato just 10 minutes away from where GenSchool is taking place.  Transportation to and from the tour will be provided.  For both safety and security reasons due to our work in the defense industry, the following policies will be enforced during the tour:

    • Pants and close-toed shoes must be worn.  Please plan accordingly.
    • Due to our work in the defense industry, both employee and visitor cell phones are not allowed in the manufacturing area for security reasons. If you need to be able to be contacted during this tour, please let us know ahead of time and we will make accommodations accordingly where you can be contacted in other ways during the plant tour.
