Promoting innovation is a strategy that is developed at several levels:

Basic research

Nidec Leroy-Somer is establishing a number of partnerships with universities and private laboratories to gain more in-depth knowledge of areas as varied as the study of basic physical phenomena, the development of software that simulates machine behavior with regard to the electromagnetic, mechanical, thermal and air-flow aspects, the search for new drive principles, the study and evaluation of new materials.

Applied research

Every day in Nidec Leroy-Somer’s laboratories, 600 people are involved in designing and testing adapted solutions to meet the precise requirements of its customers in terms of power, speed, efficiency, energy savings, compact dimensions and reliability, in the most extreme environments.

Training

Enhancing people skills through training makes it easier for employees to adapt to developments in industrial techniques and processes. Thus, via its training center (CFE) and its international network of subsidiaries, Nidec Leroy-Somer constantly trains its staff and those of its customers in the manufacture, installation, use and maintenance of its products.
