Driving the future of clean air mobility

Electrified aircraft technology is set to transform urban transportation, gaining global interest as a carbon-neutral travel solution. Beyond carbon neutrality, electric aircraft technology offers several key benefits:

Benefits of Electric Aircraft Technology

Quieter Skies: Electric motors operate much quieter than traditional combustion engines, allowing for more frequent flights in urban areas without the typical noise pollution.

Enhanced Energy Efficiency: Electric motors are generally more efficient than internal combustion engines, significantly reducing energy needs and the cost of air travel.

Reduced Operating and Maintenance Costs: With fewer moving parts, electric engines lower maintenance costs. Additionally, electricity is usually cheaper than aviation fuel and can be sourced renewably, further reducing operational costs.

To capitalize on these benefits, Nidec has partnered with Brazil-based aviation leader Embraer to establish Nidec Aerospace. This joint venture will design and manufacture electric propulsion systems (EPUs) for eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft. With plans to expand into other areas of the Urban Air Mobility (UAM) market, Nidec Aerospace aims to pioneer efficient and sustainable travel methods for the future.
