Nidec Goes Live with Production at Newly Inaugurated Orchard Hub Campus in Hubli, Karnataka — A Major Milestone in India Growth Strategy

Hubli, India – November 19, 2025 – Nidec Corporation (“Nidec”), a global leader in electric motors, generators, industrial automation, and renewable energy solutions,inaugurated its world-class Orchard Hub campus in the Kotur-Belur Industrial Area, Hubli-Dharwad, Karnataka. The fully operational facility marks a major milestone in Nidec’s India journey, uniting advanced technology, lean processes, and a people-first approach to drive innovation and operational excellence.

The Grand Inauguration was graced by Mr. Pralhad Joshi, Honourable Cabinet Minister for New & Renewable Energy, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public DistributionGovernment of India; Mr. M. B. Patil, Cabinet Minister for Large & Medium Industries and Infrastructure Development, Government of Karnataka; Mr. Hiroshi Kobe, Chairman of Nidec Corporation, Japan; and Mr. Michael Briggs, President of Nidec’s Motion & Energy Business Unit. The event also welcomed key customers and partners, underscoring Nidec’s strong industry relationships and commitment to innovation and collaboration.

Spread across 50 acres, The Orchard Hub is Nidec’s largest and most advanced manufacturing facility in India and supports several of Nidec Motion & Energy’s businesses including power generation, power conversion, renewable energy, vertical transportation, electric mobility, and industrial systems. The campus’ design fosters synergy across verticals, with the Nidec Experience Centre serving as an interactive space to showcase cutting-edge technologies and engage customers and stakeholders.

Construction began in September 2023, and within 20 months, the site evolved into a modern industrial campus housing six advanced plants. A soft inauguration was held in June 2025, followed by the official inauguration on November 14, 2025, marking the start of full-scale production.

The facility produces next-generation technologies including data center generators, wind turbine generators, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV motors, controllers, chargers, and high-efficiency motors and drives for industrial and commercial applications. With The Orchard Hub, Nidec strengthens its role in India’s energy transition towards electrification.

Built on Nidec’s 3Q6S policy and lean manufacturing principles, the campus integrates advanced automation, data-driven process controls, and flexible layouts for future diversification. Sustainability is a core pillar of The Orchard Hub, featuring a solar power system, in-house microgrid, in-house energy storage, water recycling, and waste management systems. Nidec aims to make the Orchard Hub fully carbon-neutral by 2028.

The site currently employs over 350 people, with the intent to create an additional 2,000 direct and indirect jobs in the future, strengthening local industry and the regional economy.
