Leroy-Somer Electric Power Generation, a business of the Nidec Group and the global leader in industrial alternators with power between 10kW and 25MW, has achieved platinum level certification for its Fuzhou plant as part of Caterpillar’s Supplier Quality Excellence Process (SQEP). This is the highest certification for quality and performance awarded by Caterpillar to its suppliers.
Fuzhou plant is an important production base for Leroy-Somer Electric Power Generation in the Asia-Pacific region, responsible for manufacturing high quality alternators, spare parts and for providing service support to customers in the Asia-Pacific region. Leroy Somer Fuzhou Plant has been certified by Caterpillar’s SQEP over the last nine years, achieving Platinum certification three times.
Caterpillar created the Supplier Quality Excellence Process in 2007 to recognize suppliers commitment to excellence. Suppliers are certified by meeting specific performance standards such as product quality or shipping performance, which are measured throughout the year.
“We are honored to have been awarded this certification again by Caterpillar this year,” said David Sonzogni, Asia-Pacific Vice-President for Leroy-Somer Electric Power Generation. “For us, this is a confirmation that our efforts to provide best-in-class products and service to all our customers served by our Fuzhou factory are paying off. We have always been committed to provide quality products in the region, and we will continue to focus on the manufacturing excellence and high quality standards that made the reputation of Leroy-Somer alternators.”
