GenSchool learning sessions encompass all knowledge levels, with topics including:
- Electrical and Mechanical Theory
- Basic and Advanced Generator Concepts
- Regulators and Protective Devices
- Generator Testing, Sizing, Options, Applications and Certifications
- Maintenance, Troubleshooting and Remanufacturing
In addition to the learning sessions, we offer breakout sessions tailored to the specific interests suggested by participants. When you register, please share any questions that we can during the breakout sessions.
GenSchool participants can attend a 2-hour in-depth tour of the Nidec Power manufacturing facility in North Mankato and join entertaining social events for networking with fellow industry professionals and Nidec staff.

Hotel Accommodations
Nidec has reserved hotel rooms at a reduced event rate for GenSchool participants at the hotel located adjacent to the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center.

Participants who have been accepted into GenSchool may reserve accommodation at the Hilton Garden Inn at the reduced event rate by emailing their travel dates to GenSchool@mail.nidec.com. Reservation dates and rate will be confirmed via email. -
Tour Overview
The Nidec Power manufacturing facility Tour are held at our North Mankato location. Transportation to and from the tour is provided. For both safety and security reasons, the following policies will be enforced during the tour:
- Pants and close-toed shoes are required. Please plan accordingly.
- We work in the defense industry, therefore, both employee and visitor cell phones are not allowed in the manufacturing area. If you must be contacted during this tour, please let us know ahead of time and we will make accommodations.
