Finance assistant
Role Summary
Location: Newtown, Powys, UK
We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as a Finance Assistant.
This is an intermediate level role within which you will be exposed to a wide range of duties, including supporting the entire finance team, both Actuals and FP&A teams.
For some tasks you will be following set processes, however you will be expected to work on your own initiative, and autonomously, leading on other tasks that are aligned to group and team goals.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Finance Assistant consist of but are not limited to:
- Responsibility for fixed asset accounting, including monthly P&L postings and full balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintaining fixed asset registers & supporting fixed asset impairment review work.
- Calculating lease accounting disclosures.
- Performing bank reconciliations, both weekly & monthly.
- Providing monthly cost centre review support.
- Daystats support, including regular responsibility for preparing and distributing Daystats within the expected timeline.
- Capex forecasting and budgetary support
- Resource project participation: assisting in gathering and validating the data needed, searching for, and quantifying, rate and timings revisions during the budget process and assisting with
- the reporting of operational variances each month.
- To be part of the team responsible for standard cost maintenance in Oracle.
- Suggest and lead process improvement in the area of fixed asset accounting
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- AAT level professional qualification Preferred
- Experience within a finance environment
- Strong communication skills
- Organised and ability to prioritise workloads
- Good attention to detail.
- Problem solving and issue recognition skills
- A team player with excellent work ethic.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
