Overview

The role of the Product & Application Engineer is to increase sales revenue and opportunities for Control Techniques team and is a high level technical support resource for our customers, partners and outside sales team in the area.
Is responsible for working collaboratively with the outside sales team as both a commercial advisor and product advocate, finding the best solution using the CT products .
Support selected industries and customers in the development of applications using the mechatronic approach, with calculation, test, training and promotion, mainly in the pre-sales phase.

The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:

  • Work in Product & Software Department Team
  • Receive by the sales network, scheduled program of activities for hardware technical support to customers and specify job.
  • Pre-sales activity, visiting customer to evaluate the application to help the sales people using calculation method to offer the best mechatronic product and solution in function to customer needs.
  • Support the main customers to solve their problems and reporting their requests for new feature or improvement to our marketing.
  • Test of new products features to support early adopters and report to E&D and Technical Support about issues found.
  • For major or more complex applications, the customer defines the configuration and development of his machines with the need sometimes to provide on-site support.
  • Provide drive support to customers by phone in the commissioning and after sales phase, in order to set up drive in relation to application, installation and configuration.
  • Occasional visit costumer site for advance commissioning operations for optimization of drive parameters set up.
  • Ensure information to customers on specific external devices requirements for products used.
  • Provide technical training on drive to customers.
  • Provide PP presentation to the sales network regarding applications, features news on motors and servo drives.
  • Attend technical training on UK site in order to be always up-to date.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures in all areas of his/her work (Safety, Anti-Corruption, Ethics, Trade Compliance, Legal, Financial, etc.).

Travel Requirements:

Areas: travel mostly within assigned region in Italy and or Europe
Frequency: regularly over 40% of working time

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

  • Electric and electronic engineer degree.
  • Minimum 10 years of technical engineer role in automation company, with special reference on Servo motors and Servo drives over that GP automated applications.
  • A good command of technical English (written and spoken) is essential.
