Overview
The role of the Inside Sales Engineer is to increase sales revenue and opportunities for Control Techniques team and is the primary sales support resource for our customers, partners and outside sales team.
Is responsible for working collaboratively with the outside sales team as both a commercial advisor and product advocate.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:
- Support and assist assigned sales team in executing territory growth plans and address specific accounts needs
- Support assigned sales regions working close to Outside Sales Engineer, with developing quotations in response to customer requests, tracking and following up on customer leads, and sales quota / revenue generation goals, ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints. develop quotations based on technical requirements and provide details about technical and commercial arrangements.
- Manage extensive interaction with customers, partners and team via phone and email, help with returns, recommend product additions, pricing and product knowledge
- Provide internally presale support for issues related to product selection and pricing, competitor cross referencing, applications, specifications etc.
- Recommend to customers alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
- Generate new and repeat sales by providing product, technical information, price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles.
- Proactive outbound calls are made to an established customer list.
- Develop and maintain proficient level of product and application knowledge in close contact with the internal and HQ teams.
- Develop and maintain proficient understanding of target markets and customers.
- Develop excellent working relationships with internal and external customers.
- Conduct research on prospective and existing customers and competitors as directed.
- Attend regular trainings to develop and enhance comprehension of products and learn strategies to solicit opportunities to sell Control Techniques products.
- Travel as needed with outside Sales Team to support sales efforts and / or trade show activities.
- CRM and pipeline process owner for self-generated quotations.
- Manage commercial processes related to quotation and order review. Price List Management, Item code creation, Customer SPR special prices request and validation.
- Trade Compliance and Nidec Ethics policy knowledge and proven capability to understand potential issues or conflicts.

Qualifications, Experience and Profile:
- 3 years Electric/Meccatronic/Industrial Automation Engineering Degree or equivalent diploma / specialization in Electronic/Meccatronic.
- 1-3 years’ successful selling experience as inside sales in a technical sales environment, sales support, or application engineering.
- Experience dealing with technical products (Electrical and/or motor control and/or AC Drives experience preferred).
- A good command of technical English (written and spoken) is essential.
