Nidec in the Community
Nidec in the Community

Our passion for everything that spins and moves extends to an equal enthusiasm for community involvement. At Nidec, we believe in making a positive impact on the world around us. Our employees actively support community service activities and contribute to various schools and organizations. Here are some of the community programs we proudly support:

Japan-America Society of St. Louis
For over 50 years, the Japan-America Society of St. Louis (JAS) has been fostering friendship, understanding, and cultural exchange between St. Louis and Japan. With Nidec Corporation’s strong ties to Japan, this organization is a natural fit for our employees. The society’s highlight is the annual Japanese Festival at the Missouri Botanical Garden each Labor Day weekend, the oldest and largest Japanese festival in North America. Nidec proudly supports this festival and the JAS, promoting cultural awareness and friendship between Japan and St. Louis.

Missouri Botanical Garden
Nidec Motor Corporation is a proud sponsor of the Missouri Botanical Garden, the oldest continuously operating botanical garden in the United States. Founded in 1859, this National Historic Landmark spans 79 acres of indoor and outdoor beauty. The Missouri Botanical Garden excels in promoting conservation, education, horticulture, and science. Our employees take pride in supporting this cherished St. Louis landmark.

Lymphoma and Leukemia Society
The Lymphoma and Leukemia Society (LLS) is dedicated to finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease, and myeloma, while also improving the quality of life for patients and their families. Many Nidec employees have been personally affected by cancer, which drives our eagerness to support the LLS through donations and volunteer efforts.

Rebuilding Together in St. Louis
Nidec Motor Corporation employees are committed to revitalizing St. Louis neighborhoods by rehabilitating homes for low-income homeowners, especially the elderly and disabled, enabling them to live independently in comfort and safety. Our employees volunteer their time and skills to rebuild community centers, playgrounds, and other community projects, renewing neighborhoods and fostering a sense of community.

United Way
By participating in the United Way, our employees provide funding to numerous agencies across the United States that strengthen families, invest in children, build safer neighborhoods, and support the elderly. United Way uniquely unites people as one community, enhancing local health and human services. Thanks to the dedication of many volunteers, United Way operates efficiently, with more than 90 cents of every dollar contributed going directly to services that help those in need.

At Nidec, we are dedicated to improving the world around us through active community involvement and support, embodying our commitment to making a difference both locally and globally.
