Nidec Motor Corporation's Sandy Sullivan Receives Industry Award

NOV 13, 2019

ST. LOUIS – Nov. 13, 2019  – The Power Transmission Distributor Association (PTDA) Foundation has presented Sandy Sullivan, Nidec Motor Corporation National Account Director, with its prestigious Wendy B. McDonald Award.

The award is given to a woman who has established herself as a critical contributor to her company’s success and has affected positive change within the power transmission/motion control industry.

The PTDA is the leading association for the industrial power transmission/motion control (PT/MC) distribution channel. PT/MC encompasses a broad variety of mechanical, electrical and fluid-driven equipment such as bearings, belts, drives, motors, gears, couplings, clutches and brakes, linear motion, and hydraulics and pneumatics.

The PTDA Foundation, whose work is funded solely by donations, was founded in 1982. Its core purpose is to champion education, outreach and research initiatives relevant to the PT/MC industry that enhance the knowledge and/or professionalism and productivity of industry stakeholders.

Sullivan joined Nidec Motor Corporation/U.S. Motors in 2003 and rose from a role in business development to her most recent position as National Account Director. She has served on a variety of PTDA committees and task forces, and was instrumental in establishing PTDA’s Women in the Industry community. Starting with a small group of women getting together at PTDA meetings, the community has grown in size and holds quarterly conference calls with open discussions about women succeeding in the power transmission/motion control industry.

In announcing the award, the PTDA Foundation praised Sullivan’s work ethic, said she will “do whatever it takes” to solve an issue for her customers, and described her successes in building personal relationships while giving back to the industry.
