Group Financial Controller

Role Summary

Location: Newtown, Powys, UK

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Global Financial Controller to join our Nidec Drives team. 

The role of Global Financial Controller will be a key component of the Business Segment Finance Leadership Team and will be responsible for and lead all financial reporting, financial compliance, financial controls, and balance sheet management for Nidec Drives.

With a focus of enforcing Nidec accounting policy and processes across the Nidec Drives sub-segments, the global Financial Controller will drive excellent trade working capital, treasury, business tax and cash management. As well as ensuring business financial integrity, and maximising cash performance.

Some of the main responsibilities and duties of this role are: 

Financial Reporting and Controls:

  • Lead the financial reporting function across the Nidec Drives business segment.

Balance sheet and Cash Management:

  • Hold responsibility for the Nidec Drives balance sheet and cash performance.

Treasury:

  • Work with Motion Finance, Motion and Energy Finance and Nidec Corporate Treasury, whilst leading and overseeing treasury activity for Nidec Drives.

Team Management:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to direct reports and the wider Nidec Drives Finance team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Undergraduate Degree (in relevant financial or business discipline)
  • Professional Financial Qualification.
  • Credible prior experience in senior finance leadership roles (within a complex business)
  • Commercial and Controlling Finance experience
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
  • Good people and project management skills.
  • Experience in operating and influencing at a strategic level.
  • Working within a multicultural and global environment
