TOMRA, a global leader in reverse vending technology, faced a challenge when the Netherlands expanded its deposit system to include cans. The increased volume overwhelmed TOMRA’s machines, causing motor failures. Partnering with Nidec Drives and Duursma, TOMRA found a solution by upgrading to three-phase motors paired with the Control Techniques Commander S Micro AC drives. This upgrade prevents overheating and ensures reliable operation, all while maximising sustainability.
The Control Techniques Commander S offers easy installation, a small ecological footprint, and wireless communication and monitoring via NFC and the Marshal app; which allows for efficient remote diagnostics. This collaboration not only resolved TOMRA's immediate issues but also set a new standard in sustainable recycling technology.
