ROHS compliance

Directive 2011/ 65/ EU (“RoHS Directive”)

The purpose of the RoHS Directive is to restrict the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The RoHS Directive prohibits the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than the agreed levels of the following substances:

  • Lead (0.1 %)
  • Cadmium (0.01 %)
  • Mercury (0.1 %)
  • Hexavalent chromium (0.1 %)
  • Polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) (0.1 %)
  • Polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants (0.1 %)
  • Bis (2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) (0.1 % added 2015)
  • Butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP) (0.1 % added 2015)
  • Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (0.1 % added 2015)
  • Diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP) (0.1 % added 2015)

The following Control Techniques product lines are fully compliant with the RoHS Directive. Other product lines, not listed below, contain lead solder and are therefore not compliant with the RoHS Directive.

From 22 July 2019, the RoHS Directive will apply to all electrical and electronic goods not specifically excluded. Further information on equipment that is excluded from the RoHS Directive can be found on the EU website: http://ec.europa.eu.
