Area sales manager

Role Summary

Location: South East, UK

An exciting opportunity awaits to be part of the acclaimed Control Techniques Drive Centre sales team in the UK. 

As an Area Sales Manager, you will execute effective strategies and tactics to support our vision to propel us to the top spot in variable speed within the UK & Ireland. 

Your responsibilities include delivering technically advanced and commercially competitive products and services, adding substantial value for our customers.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • To be successful in this role you will Identify new business opportunities within the sales territory, use existing database, and own prospecting to grow sales.
  • You will be required to develop, implement, and update a customer-centric business action plan, aimed at growing sales. 
  • You will be required to liaise with colleagues in Business Development, Inside Sales, and Applications to maximize opportunities and improve customer satisfaction & retention.
  • You will be required to track new prospects, develop relationships, and facilitate the quoting/ formal tender and procurement process. 
  • You will contribute to the design, production, and effective delivery of high-quality sales presentations and proposals, this will span from engineering to board level for prospective customers in accordance with agreed guidelines.
  • You will be required to provide and distribute approved marketing materials to secure sales visits.
  • You will be required to build awareness of market trends, competitor products/activity, and influence in the area to achieve ambitious sales growth.
  • You will ensure all appointments and proposals illustrate us in a highly professional yet competitive light, with the end goal of securing the prospective business, at an acceptably profitable price. 
  • You will be required to build, utilize, and communicate with key internal and external stakeholders within the business to continuously improve your understanding and knowledge of the solution offering, as well as working with existing customers to maximize business opportunities.
  • This role requires you to plan and prepare monthly presentations for sales meetings, and to report business and forecast data.
  • You will ensure that all sales activity is conducted in accordance with Control Techniques’ and Nidec’s business ethics and trade compliance rules.

 

Required Qualifications and Experience: 

Qualifications

  • Professional qualification in Electrical /Mechatronic/ Mechanical Engineering. Degree/HND preferred.

 

Experience

  • Strong commercial background in selling industrial products
  • Appreciation of the technical capabilities of products and the ability to sell their advantages
  • New business development experience 
  • Drive and motor application knowledge would be advantageous
