Sponsored Student Opportunities
E3 Academy

Nidec Drives and the E3 Academy cooperate to offer sponsorship for undergraduate students studying electrical engineering at the universities of Nottingham, Bristol and Newcastle. Students also receive paid summer work experience at Nidec Drives' engineering centre in Newtown, Mid-Wales.

As an engineer within Nidec Drives, you will discover a place where your skills and creativity are highly valued and rewarded. The work you do will be exciting, fast paced, and involve the application of leading-edge power electronics and control technologies. You will have all of the support and resources you need to develop and succeed, and will be located in the company's global headquarters within a modern, purpose built and fully-equipped engineering centre.

As an E3 Academy student you will receive a two-day induction with the company prior to starting University. Each summer you will be involved in a different 8 week placement, joining one of the engineering teams, participating in a live engineering design project. This gives you the opportunity to work with, and learn from, many of the world's top development engineers in the fields of power electronics, software and control. You will also have the opportunity to meet socially with other students and employees.

On graduating and joining Nidec Drives, the company will partially refund your university tuition fees. You will then join Nidec Drives' internationally recognised IET accredited engineering graduate training program. This will set you on a fast-track path to achieve your personal and professional career goals. As your achievements and skills grow, new opportunities within Nidec Drives will enable you to take on different roles and broaden your experience.

Located in the stunning Welsh countryside, Nidec Drives offers E3 Academy students the perfect setting to fulfil their potential. Nearby Shrewsbury is a large, vibrant town with great rail and motorway links, meaning you'll find plenty to do in your free time.
