Nidec Drives UK celebrates the season with "12 Days of Charity"
22 December 2025

This festive season, Nidec Drives put a creative twist on the classic “12 Days of Christmas” with our very own “12 Days of Charity” campaign, a series of activities designed to spread joy and make a real difference in our community.

For 12 days, our colleagues came together to support local charities that make the world a better place. From helping children to supporting dignity projects, every day brought a new opportunity to give back. The fundraising began with a £500 donation to Hope House and concluded with an incredible £1,500 contribution to Newtown’s Kindness Festival, reinforcing our commitment to kindness and community.

Here’s what we got up to:

Day 1: Hope House Donation

We kicked off the campaign with a heartfelt £500 donation to Hope House, supporting children and families who need care and comfort during difficult times.

Day 2: Bake Sale Fundraiser

Whether they baked or bought, colleagues came together for a charity bake sale in aid of the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund. Raising an impressive £552 while sharing sweet treats and festive cheer.

Day 3: Santa Run!

Nidec Drives sponsored spaces for colleagues to join the Shropshire Santa Run, donning Santa suits and running to raise awareness and funds for Mind Mental Health UK. A fun and active way to spread joy!

Day 4 & 5: Children’s Christmas Cheer

We collected toys and gifts to ensure every child experiences the magic of Christmas. These donations went to Save the Children, Severn Hospice, Salvation Army, and Hafon yr Afon Cafe,  bringing smiles to young faces.

Day 6: Festive Jumper Day

Colleagues wore their most festive jumpers and donated to Mind Mental Health UK, turning the office into a sea of holiday spirit while raising £276!

Day 7 & 8: Pet Pantry Project

We gathered pet food and supplies for Gonsal Farm, RSPCA, making sure our furry friends were cared for during the holidays.

Day 9 & 10: Essentials for Dignity

We collected hygiene products and essentials for Montgomeryshire Family Crisis Centre and The Hygiene Bank, helping those in need maintain comfort and self-respect.

Day 11 & 12: Food Drive for those in need

Our final days focused on providing food for those in need, ensuring that everyone could enjoy a warm meal during the festive season. These donations were sent to Newtown Food Surplus and Telford United.

A grand finale of kindness

To wrap up, we proudly donated £1,500 to Newtown’s Kindness Festival, supporting initiatives that bring people together and promote compassion in the community.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated and supported our 12 Days of Charity. Together, we’ve shown that even small actions can create big change.
