Our focus is on emerging markets such as robotics, autonomous guided vehicles, autonomous mobile robots, warehouse automation, material handling, agriculture, commercial kitchens, access and security, automated storage and retrieval systems, and many more.
We offer servo motors, brushless DC motors, brushless AC permanent magnet motors, and stepper motors. We also produce fractional and subfractional gearmotors, such as brushless DC gearmotors, PMDC brushed motors, PMDC brushed gearmotors, PMDC planetary and right angle gearmotors, as well as BLDC, PMDC and AC parallel shaft gearmotors. We also design and produce the corresponding drives for our products in the ultra low voltage DC range (battery voltage), as well as AC voltages up to 600V.
Through our acquisitions, Nidec Automation has two very notable additions: Roboteq and Merkle-Korff. From its beginning in 2002, RoboteQ focused on manufacturing best-in-class drives for the then-emerging mobile robot industry. RoboteQ’s offering has grown to include other important robot system components such as navigation sensors and power management subsystems. With the addition of Nidec’s advanced motors to RoboteQ’s rich catalog of ultra low voltage drives, navigation sensors, and lithium battery management, we’re making it easy for customers to choose our total robot component solutions.
Founded in 1911, Merkle-Korff pioneered the development of small motors and gear motors known as “sub-fractionals.” The company developed the original small gearmotor in the 1920’s, followed by the simple cup-drop motor in soft drink machines and through-the-door ice dispensing systems in the 1950’s. Our Merkle-Korff offerings remain an industry-leading BLDC, PMDC, PSC and AC gearmotor and motor solutions for applications in the commercial food equipment, consumer appliance, vending, pellet stove, medical and other various markets.
