Meet Michael as he takes us through his inspiring career journey within Nidec Drives!

Right out of business school, I started working for KB Electronics, and as such, I have been able to grow alongside them.
My first position within the company was as a Desktop Publisher, digitising previously recorded documents written via a typewriter. This was a new software for its time and was very exciting. A few years later, we moved to Coral Springs, Florida, and I wanted to try something different.
An opportunity came up for me to manage the Network, and after completing numerous courses, learning and understanding the network and system, I grew into my role in the IT department. I've always believed that the more I can do to make the company I work for profitable, the more value they will see in me as an employee, and the more rewarding my career will be. I have applied that throughout each of my roles in the company and as the company grew and evolved, so did my career.
I had no idea you could go to school to become a Graphic Artist, but alongside my job, I went back and Majored in Graphic Design. This led me to my full-time role as a Graphic Designer. It was something different being thrown at you every day, new projects and new requests for various parts of the business.
After KB Electronics was sold and became part of Nidec Drives, it was recognised that I had a talent for marketing. The company introduced me to the marketing field, and I found my passion for the digital world. Everything is data-driven, and in digital marketing, we study the tendencies of businesses that are looking at our products and what they are looking at our product for, allowing us to make better decisions when we target specific customers.
What's next for me? I'm now a Lead Generation Manager.
Lead Generation is the connection between marketing and sales - understanding customers, potential customers, our competitors, and how we can strengthen the collaboration between the two teams, market our products and create more sales.
After that, who knows what the next 30 years will bring!
I'm proud to be on a dynamic team that keeps getting stronger every day, my goal remains clear still - to continue growing with Nidec Drives, strengthen our global sales relationships, and drive even more success by selling more drives.
